Biochar

Biochar for Soil, Climate and a Regenerative Future

Carbon Fresh Climate India Pvt Ltd. create innovative, high-impact products derived from biomass surplus. Our portfolio is built around science, sustainability, and circular economy principles - helping communities, industries, and ecosystems thrive.

Carbon Fresh Biochar offers a powerful way to permanently remove carbon from the atmosphere, enrich soils, and enable sustainable innovations.

Why Biochar?

We value biochar not just for improving soil, but for helping build a cleaner, more sustainable future.

Climate Change Mitigation

Biochar is a permanent carbon sink. By stabilizing carbon from biomass, it prevents CO₂ from returning to the atmosphere for hundreds to thousands of years. According to the IBI, biochar has the potential to remove over 1 billion tons of CO₂ annually if applied globally and responsibly.

Soil Enhancement & Agricultural Resilience

When added to soil, biochar improves:

  • Nutrient retention and availability
  • Water-holding capacity, especially in dry climates
  • Soil microbial activity and overall fertility

These benefits lead to better crop yields, improved food security, and reduced need for chemical fertilizers.

polution reduction

Waste Valorisation & Pollution Reduction

Biochar production turns agricultural waste into value. Instead of burning or dumping residues, biomass is upcycled into biochar, reducing:

  • Air pollution (especially from open burning)
  • Methane and nitrous oxide emissions
  • Leaching of nutrients into water bodies
Circular Economy

Circular Economy & Industrial Use

Beyond agriculture, biochar supports low-carbon innovation in construction, filtration, packaging, and material science. It can replace carbon-intensive ingredients in bricks, concrete, insulation, and more—extending its carbon-locking power far beyond the field.

Scientifically Supported & Scalable

With decades of research behind it and growing policy support, biochar is globally recognized as a measurable and scalable carbon removal solution—eligible for verified carbon credits and integrated into climate strategies worldwide.

What is Biochar?

Biochar is a solid material produced by the thermal decomposition of biomass (such as wood, manure, or leaves) under limited supply of oxygen (O2) and at relatively low temperatures (700 °C) This process, called pyrolysis, is a fundamental part of biochar technology; The primary application of biochar is its use as a soil amendment, with the intention to improve soil functions and to reduce emissions from biomass that would otherwise naturally degrade to greenhouse gases.

Advantage of Biochar

  • Permanent Carbon Removal
  • Increased nutrient use efficiency
  • Increased agricultural productivity
  • High water retention capacity
  • Increased microbial communities
  • 100% biomass waste as feedstocks

How We Make It

Our process uses local agricultural surplus residues, such as crop husks, shells and plant waste, which are otherwise burned or discarded. Using state-of-the-art pyrolysis technology, we transform this biomass into biochar, bio-oil, and renewable gases – all part of a circular, zero-waste model.

zero waste

Zero-Waste, Circular Process

We convert agricultural waste into valuable outputs—biochar, bio-oil, and renewable gases—ensuring no part of the biomass goes unused.

Pyrolytic

Advanced Pyrolytic Reactors

Our reactors operate at optimal temperatures for maximum carbonization, producing biochar rich in fixed carbon.

Emission

Advanced Emission Controls

Our advanced filtration and emissions control systems ensure the production process remains clean, safe, and environmentally responsible.
